I completely forgot about this thing. Oops! Well not much has been going on. I had band today, which was fun as always. I wonder, do you think someone can actually die from practicing a song so much?? Christmas Carilion sounds really bad, it might kill me.

Last night I was trying to think of a new myspace name, and the name Punk for Christ stuck out to me. then PFC did. Then the thought of having a Christian puck clothing line popped in my head. As most know, I'm really into the whole Emo/Scene group. I love the style, the originality, and fun that comes with it. I guess you could call that my stereotype. tehe. The problem is, when you think of a person with purple hair, black bondage pants, SOAD shirt, and black eyeliner, you don't think that person is a Christian do you? Most don't and that's no kool. So I wanna show people you can be punk, and still worship God. I have a few ideas for jeans and skirts in my mind, now i just have to put it on paper. This will be fun!

Samantha C. Charlie is home! He was born Thursday morning at 9:00 and he was 7 pounds 1 ounce at 19 inches long! Sad thing was, he was sick, and they had to put in a feeding tube, followed by an IV. but he's home now, after a whole week, and he's sOo cute! I went to see him Friday, and took a few pics! I was scared to hold him though, because I was sick, and because I've never held a two day old baby before. Once he gets a little older though, I promise to always ask 'is it my turn to hold him yet?!' lol here's some pics. Since my computer is slow with uploading, I'm using HTML, and i'm new at that, so I hope these turn out!

this is my aunt holding her new grandson!

here's my sister. she has that 'i can't wait to have a baby too' look in her eyes!

Samantha C. My cousin Joey's wife, Alecia, is going to get induced today, and will more than likely go into labor between tonight and early tomorrow morning! I'm hoping to get to go see this miracle! They will be naming his Charles after my father, which is a blessing I can't even put into words, for my father was a great man. I know they will be great parents. I pray they will raise this child in God's way and will. I can't wait to see if lil' Charlie will have the hereditary 'Brooks gap' between his two front teeth, like all us Brooks's do! They had to induce labor as Alecia's blood pressure is too high, and won't go down. So please keep her in your prayers, so that she and the baby come out healthy! Wow, I can't believe I'm going to see a new born baby; I haven't done that before! I'm really excited, and I'm sure Joey can't wait to see his first son!

Samantha C. Friday night I went to the scrimmage with Lauren and Nick. We met up with Jess, RJ, FreakShow, Billy, Aubrey, and others I didn't know. The game ended because someone got injured, so RJ took Lauren, Jess, and me to Lauren's house. We got bored, so RJ took us to eat. He needed gas first, so we went on a scavenger hunt to find a place that would cash his check. We went to Winn Dixie, Food World, and finally Wal Mart. We ate at Wendy's and then were headed out the door to Shawn's house, when Shawn and James came in! So we then finally made it to Lauren's, where we stayed outside being stupid until about 2 a.m. Then Jess and I stayed the night at her house.

Saturday we got up and RJ dropped us off at the Plantation House to eat, YUM! After that, we called AJ to give us a ride home. And we were stuck waiting for about a half hour! We made him late for EnFuego, OOPS!! When we got to Lauren's house, we got ready to go to the stables to see her horses. Kyle wanted to come, but he was too late, so he just came to her house, and we laughed at Jess and Lauren trying to play DDR.RJ then came over around 8, and we went to his dad's house to watch his dad's band practice. They are REALLY REALLY GOOD!!! Afterwards, we rode fourwheelers until about 10. Wow, RJ is scary on those things! He said he couldn't hear after I screamed so loud in his ear. Tehe ;) He finally took me home at 10:30, and I was thankful to be able to take a shower and go to bed!

Sunday, I had another hectic day at work. That's okay though, cuz I had fun!!! It's great to be able to be a teenage sometimes, don't you agree???

Samantha C. I had so much fun! Here's how my day went

I get there, and they give me all my stuff: shirt, apron, pen and ticket book, and straws. I then begin sweeping and filling coffee pots, because I was in charge of the coffee area. Basically that means if I see the coffee running low, I make more. We opened soon after that, and from 10:30-2:30 I was running around cleaning tables, refilling drinks, asking how everything was going, taking dirty dishes, etc. After that, I FINALLY got a lunch break, and they give the workers a free meal. I didn't eat, because I was too tired! Soon after that, we started closing, and it took two hours for us to clean and prepare forks and knifes in napkins for tomorrow. I made 15 dollars in tips, and 18 for regular pay, which i think is good for one day's work! My friend Jessica works there as the only other waitress, and Tree (nickname) was a hostess, and Matt and Amber cleaned dishes. They were all nice and around my age, which is refreshing to me! I got a blister and red hands from ringing out a rag over fifty times today, and no i'm not kidding, it was over fifty! hehe If you want to make a little extra money, the Plantation House and Gardens is the place. They are short in workers right now, and they hired me right away. Just ask me for directions, and I'll help you get an application. After work, Jessica and I were escorted to the movie theater by A.J. After the movie, we went to Steak and Shake, only I didn't have money left, so A.J. offered to buy me something. I only got water, for I hate having people spend money on me! Turned out the water was free. hehe Now I'm home and tired, but I had so much fun at work. I might even quit my other job,who knows. anyways i gotta run now. bye!

Samantha C. I got a job!!! I'm so excited! I went in to the Plantation House, very nervous i might add, and gave my application over to a waitress, who took it to a cook, who took it to the owner. The owner came out and spoke to me, and asked when i could work, and I told her weekends, so she said I can work every Sunday from 10:30 to 3:30!! She didn't even know my name, or look at my application. But I get to work with my friend Jessica, which will be fun, and my mom said most young actresses start out as waitresses. hehe. The other day, I was bored, so I googled myself. I came up with another Samantha Brooks, who's an actress. She played in some Disney show. Her biography says she majored in Bachelor of Science of Fine Arts, which is what i'll be taking! Is that strange or what? well I just felt like posting, with nothing at all to talk about, so I better go. bye!

Samantha C. As always, the movie didn't get watched, for we talked to whole time. We even started it over twice, to try to watch it, but we failed.
The rest of my week was filled with regular chores and reading. Thursday I had band, and Bekah and Jesse came over first so we could make shirts to wear to the Battle of the Bands tomorrow.
Yesterday i made a yummy chocolate cake! I'll write the recipe when I get home, seeing as how i'm at work right now. You know what that means, school and studying added onto the long list of stuff i have to do. I don't mind, because when I have nothing to do, I'm really bored and wish I have my list back! hehe. Let's see. This year for school I might be taking Accounting, Consumer Math, History, English, Science, Foundations For Living, Bible, and Home Ec. On top of that, I'm taking band classes and hopefully a homeschool drama club. Is anyone else joinin it this year? It'd be nice to know more people joining! If you want information, just ask! Also, I may be taking on a second job for the weekend, waitressing, with one of my friends. The reason I'm taking the second job is due to the fact that when I turn 16, my insurance will probably go up a lot, so I need to save money! lol

I'm making a few goals this year for school. One, help out more around the house, which I do, but I could do more. Two, no more procrastinating, which is my BIGGEST bad habit! Three, make nice with those I've argued with; recently I got into a big fight with a friend, and things have been weird, but now I don't want anymore argueing, with anyone! Four, grow closer to God, which is actually number one, but these aren't in order of importance.

Today was the first day of band. I moved up to Advanced, and was kind of nervous to be playing with them. I think that was mainly because I'm the only 'new' one there for my instrument. I felt a little intimidated at first, not knowing a couple scales, and one song, but quickly got over that!

Well, I think I've bored you enough, time for bed now!

Oh, i almost forgot; does anyone have a good recipe for a homemade cake? I was thinking of a chocolate mocha cake, but I can't find a recipe that fits my picky style. lol

Samantha C. It was about a 14-yr-old girl who went on her first date, and the boy got her to do things inappropiate outside of marriage. She got a disease from it. I wouldn't recommend this movie, especially w/o an adult present, but it really got me thinking of how much my life has changed over the last few years. Some of you may be laughing, or thinking 'what's she talking about?' but it's true, my life has dramatically changed between public and home school. I look back on my friends, my four soul-sisters, April, Jessica, Brandilyn, and Amanda, and wow I can't believe I was so dumb! Here's an example:
A normal day of my life 4 years ago.....
Wake up and get ready for school, picking out the tightest jeans I was allowed to wear, a shirt I couldn't breathe in, and cute shoes to match. Then putting on lots and lots of makeup (which I re-applied once I got to school of course) School was a party to me. While I was considered a 'geek', my friends didn't think so at all. We would cut-up in class, send cute notes to boys, etc. At lunch, we always got one of the older kids to sneak us a soda, because we weren't allowed to buy them. Gym class, we'd hide behind the basketball goals, so we wouldn't have to do anything. My friends would quit talking to me if I wore the wrong thing, said the wrong thing, or did the wrong thing. Looking back, there was no individuality between the five of us.
I like myself better now; I enjoy new activities, get to wear what I please (long dresses), and definitely cut down on makeup. I look at my old friends: April, I still talk to her, but she's really changed, she doesn't care what people think of her and that's good. Jessica, she went down a bad road, sneaking out, drinking, etc. I've tried to help, and now we don't talk. She's in my prayers though. Brandi, I think is getting married. I could be wrong, but her boyfriend (16, smokes, drinks, unfaithful) has proposed. Amanda, I don't know what happened to her. I wonder what would have happened to me if I would have stayed at public school.

My friends now are completely different from me, yet we have a lot in common. If I never went to homeschool, I would have never found God, modesty, and what I love best, and was always scared to do, ACTING! When I first left my old school, I wondered why I HAD to, why I HAD to leave Millbrook, leave my 'friends' and my life. But now I realize there was a reason, and it was God's way of reaching out to me.

Samantha C. It was such fun! I was sad to say bye to everyone, but we all exchanged email and phone numbers, so it's good! I learned a lot about 'getting into character.' For example, for Juliet, I had to be like a girl in love, but doesn't want to be, and is argueing with herself about the concept. Then for Grumio, I had to be a skiddish, confused servant, wanting to please his master, yet not wanting to get into trouble. Both roles were fun to play though. I may take more acting classes in September at the Armory Arts Center, since they're A LOT cheaper. I'm hoping to go to Faulkner University to continue my education in theater, so that should be fun.

There's really nothing new in my life to talk about, so I guess I'm going to go now.

I was still the age I am now, and was standing in the doorway to a sanctuary. All of a sudden, I realized I didn't have my shoes, so I had to find them and there they were. After that, I couldn't find my veil, so I had to settle for a red one. Finally I'm ready to go down the aisle, and I don't see my fiancee anywhere. I search and search and still can't find him. In my dream, I told myself, 'if I see who I'm marrying in this dream, that will be who I marry in real life" Well I woke up after that, so I never found out who it was! silly no?

Since I've turned 15, I've been allowed to have 'special friendships' with gentlemen if one wanted to be special friends. This is mainly on the account that my parents met at 15, were together at 16, and wedded at 18. Of course, when I say special friends, I mean within reason. For example, such a young man could visit, have dinner with my family, call me, and vise virsa. I have not met that young man yet, but that's okay, as I'm only 15. My mom just says if I happen to meet that young man, it's okay to be good friends til I'm at marriageable age.

Samantha C. Sadly, they're coming to an end. It's been a dream of mine to become an actress since I was about 12. I always wanted to be a girl from the old days living on a plantation in a movie. Of course, I doubt that will happen, but working on Shakespeare is fun too! I've learned how to stage fight, throw my voice, enunciate better, and lots more. These classes have really helped my convidence too, and everyone are friends with everyone else, so it's nice. For the final presentation, I'm doing a monologue from Taming of the Shrew with someone else, and one by myself from Romeo and Juliet. I hope to save up enough money for classes in the fall (150-200 dollars) because it's so much fun! The other kids in the class are very good actors and actresses, and there's no competition like most acting classes, so it's good. Does anyone know of a drama camp? I'm hoping to go to one next summer, and maybe one day go professional with this!

Samantha C. The wedding was at my uncle's house. Due to lots of bad things that happened after my dad died from my family, it was nice to put aside our differences and be happy for my cousin. I saw lots of family I've not seen in at least 11 years, so that was a little strange. Brooke was so nervous, but she kept her cool very well. I don't think it hit Justin that he was getting married until he saw his bride walk down the aisle, and then he just couldn't help but smile. People were joking that I was next in line to wed, though not for at least another 3 years! I will post pictures as soon as I get them loaded. Trust me, I took LOTS of pictures!!

Samantha C. My family all had a bad day, and it's weird because since I was so young, I'm not as affected as they are.
Today I had my first drama class at the Shakespeare Festival! I had a bunch of fun! We learned different exercises to warm up our bodies and voices. Some are a tad silly, but that's okay! I have one week to find a play and learn ten lines out of it. I picked Romeo and Juliet and the balcony scene. I've been doing a chapter a day in my health book (substitute for science) and I normally do a chapter a week. I'm trying to finish by the end of the week, so I can have at least a little bit of a break. lol. Apart from that, I've been lugging boxes of books out of the shed for the homeschool booksell; who knew one person could have so many books! Friday, I got to work at the office all day, so that's triple my normal hours. Friday night, my nephew spent the night, and for a 6-yr-old, he's very energetic! Greg is nesting again, this time under our porch steps! I get my paycheck today, so tomorrow I'm hoping to go get fabric to make a skirt. I have a pattern, but I want to try making one without a pattern. Can't be that hard right? I'm probably wrong. lol. He's going to Huntington College to start a marching band from scratch, his life-long dream! After 17 great years of inspiring students from 6th grade and up, he's not just become a teacher, but a mentor. I remember when I was in 6th grade, about to start 7th, and he came around telling everyone about the band program for the following year. I was so excited to FINALLY be able to wear a jacket that says, Samantha Brooks: Flute. He worked us hard, what with band camp in the summer, and practice everyday. Though I was only in the school for a short while, he inspired me with my music, showing me music isn't just noise, it's art expressed through sound. It was fun. The songs were kind of boring, but at least it's over with for now. I was hoping one of my friends could come, but he had a thing at church. That's okay though! After the concert, I rode with Rebekah to Bruster's. It was fun, and it seems like half the band was there! A few of the younger kids were bouncing off the walls from the hyperness they got from their icecream.

Now that band's over with, I get to take drama classes for homeschoolers this summer. I can't wait. When I was in public school, I was disappointed to find out I couldn't be in drama club, because I was already in band, and practices were at the same time. So i'm really happy to find drama classes now!!

Samantha C. Yesterday I got to go to church with two of my oldest friends: Daniel and Nick. It was so much fun! The youth pastor Glenn was really nice. Everytime someone saw I was new and didn't know anyone, they would come up and hug me or shake my hand. We learned about Absolute Faith, and Glenn had very good points to share. For example, a light switch. Do you ever stop to think, 'Will the switch cut the light on this time?' before you hit the switch? No you don't, because you automatically know it's going to cut on. Another example was a car. Do you ever stop to think, 'I wonder if the car will turn on?' before putting the key in the ignition. No you don't, because you automatically know it's going to work. That's absolute faith. If you can have absolute faith in a light switch or an ignition, why not God? After church we went to Walmart. Why we did that, I have no clue. We just walked around, and then it was time for me to go home. Daniel even walked me to my door and spoke to my mother. He said he wanted to make sure I got inside safely. I thought that was so gentlemenly! I know I'm weird but I can't help it.

Today is the last day of band. Tonight we have our last concert. It should be fun. I have no clue if I'm coming back next year or not though, because I'm doubling up on school work. That means I'm doing 10th and 11th grade in one year. It might be tough, but I want to graduate early! lol

Samantha C. Things have been kind of slow around here. I've finished 9th grade! and am now working on science for 10th grade. Since it's the only subject I'm doing right now, I'll be done with it by the end of May! Today, I made a cake for mom for Mother's Day tomorrow. It's my first homeade cake, and it turned out well. We all couldn't wait until tomorrow to try it, so we each had a small piece. It's called 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake, and I got the recipe off a pack of coacoa. I'll give you the recipe if you want it, just let me know! My nephew Blake is coming over to stay the night. He is 6, so he has a lot of energy! So I'm saving my energy for when he gets here. lol. Part of the future includes being married. I know that's a long while away, but what girl can't help but try to imagine what it will be like doing the things their mother does on a daily basis. While it's true I'm too young to think about marriage, there's one thing I can do now to make marriage more meaningful. That's staying pure. A year or so ago, my sister gave me a ring that looks sort of like an engagement ring, and it's really pretty. I've never worn it because I didn't like the thought of wearing what looks like an engagement ring, because I'm 15, can you imagine the looks I'd get? I was talking to an old friend yesterday and she told me she had a purity ring, which she wears on her left ring finger, that stands for her purity. Basically you wear it until you're older and get married, and you're to take it off on your wedding day. I liked that idea, so the ring my sister gave me is now my purity rings. True, I could get a real one, but this one has more meaning to me. If you'd like your own, I suggest checking out PurityRings.com

Samantha C. I'm soooooooo excited!!! This awesome thing happened a few days ago. I had to go to the court house, which is only a block away from the office I work at. Since I was walking, I was worried it would start rainging since the sky looked really dark. I prayed to God asking if it couldn't rain while I was out. It ended up raining, so I went in and waited for it to pass. It did, so I walked to the court house. I felt a couple of raindrops, but I guess that was just dripping off of trees. When I got back to the office and was heading up the steps, it started raining! God answered my prayers of it not raining on me! It's so awesome that He takes the time to answer the smallest of prayers! Last night, my dog, Kaos, got a hold of a baby opossum! It was a little scary, and I'm now scared to go outside in the back yard. funny huh? I'm hoping she doesn't have rabies or anything. Mom said she doesn't, as she's up to date on her shots and there wasn't blood on her mouth, so she didn't bite into the animal.

Samantha C. First off, my cousin Joey got a job with the state working in Corrections. He's excited about it, though it scares me! lol. Secondly, my dear friend Rebekah Olm has a new nephew, Jonathon Seaborn Olm! Thirdly, my brother was one of the guys that helped escorting the President as he drove to Tuskegee. He said they sent out a warning on the scanner saying, 'We've lost the President' and went a different way to Tuskegee, in case there was anyone following their route. And the Secret Service had another car go down the original route that looked just like Mr. Bush's. I thought that was kind of cool. Well I must go.

Samantha C. The day before, I was bored, and nobody was home, so I just called people I don't really talk to anymore; I happened upon Nick Watson's number, so I called him. It's been an entire year since we've talked, so it was good to catch up! He asked to come over the day, so he rode his bike down here yesterday! I was walking outside when he came up, and we didn't recognize each other. We walked to the pond, where a fish jumped out of the water at us, scaring us both! We also walked near the pond, and the basketball court. We could have kept going but he said he was feeling out of place, as it was Prattville territory. He got the assumption that if a kid from Prattville High School knew he was here, and he's from Stanhope, that they'd pick a fight with him. Sad to say, that WOULD probably happen. Well that was my day. It may not sound like much, but it was nice being with an old friend!

Samantha C. But as always, all good things must end and I need to get back to my normal weekly routine. Friday, I made some favorite foods around here: pimento cheese, and some apple-thing with no name! lol. Saturday I went shopping with my sister. We went to Dillards and also two second-hand stores. I found great deals on skirts! Sunday: today I went to church at Prattville Community Church. They had a little program for Easter, and never have I seen a small country church so full! They had little skits, and the choir sang beautifully. While watching the other teenagers acting out different events, I really wanted to be on stage too! So I think I will go through with the acting classes this October at the Shakespeare Festival.

Samantha C. For those who don't know, he works at Kilbey Prison, as a guard who takes the prisoners out to work. Well, yesterday he was outside and two guys came up to him saying, 'You're gonna get what you deserve''; and saying other inappropiate things. They looked like they were going to hurt my brother, so he punched on in the face, and another in the chest. I don't really think violence is good, but what else could he do to protect himself? He was a little shaken, but he seems better now.

Onto a happier note, this afternoon I'm going to my sister's house to try out hairstyles for prom!

Samantha C. Not much has been going on. I get to go to prom this year! I'm so excited!
I don't have a 'date', but that's okay. I finally got hold of Brandilyn last night! (She was an old friend from WAY back, who I lost touch with) She's doing okay. Her boyfriend has proposed. Normally that would be great, but she's only 15 and he's 16! She's not told him an answer, but I hope she says no, shes too young! But that's not my place to say anything. Anyways, my sister bought me a new pattern for pajamas. I've never made those, so we'll see how they turn out.

Samantha C. I worked 9-5 Monday, 1-5 Tuesday-Thursday, and 8:30-4:30 today! I worked on my normal filing, pulling files, making reciepts and writing payments into a person's log, and also walking to the court house. It was fun though, because I got to spend a while with my sister! We always have great talks about faith. Tomorrow, my brother, nephew, aunt, uncle, two cousins, cousin's wife, and some family from my brother-in-law's family are going to my sister's house for a fish-fry. It will be fun! And Monday it's back to my normal school routine. That will be hard to start again. lol. well i better go.

Samantha C. My sister stayed here until 9 looking at photo albums! But the reason she stayed is because her husband (his ability to fix everything has been coming in handy!) was fixing my mom's car. For a while, it's been making strange noises. And on the way to Walmart yesterday, it started smelling funny, so we went home. So all the menfolk (my brother, brother-in-law, and cousin) looked at it. I honestly have no clue what was wrong. They were sitting there talking, and my cousin's wife and I were both saying 'what are you talking about?!' lol. Well that was about my day. Ya, me too! Here's a few tips I've come up with to turn the ''two sizes two small'' look of today into modest.

Can't find any jeans that aren't too tight? Wear a baggy shirt over them, and no one will notice.

Just LOVE that pattern on the skirt, but turns out, it's a mini skirt! Do you know how many people wear jeans under their skirts, and it looks pretty cool!

Neckline too low on a shirt (or dress) you want? A jean jacket or sweater will cover that up.

If ever there's a shirt either too short, too see-through, too anything but modest, wear a spaghetti strap under it, and it will look like part of the shirt, only a little more decent!

Samantha C. Mom called my sister, and she and her husband came down two hours ago, and after about two hours, my bro-in-law saved the day! Here are the facts about the three candidates.

Candidate A.Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist. He's had two mistresses. I'll start at the beginning. My cousins had their four children (one 9 yrs old, one 4, and two 2) over at my aunt's house. they left them outside unsupervised, and they found a match and a gas can. No one knows what happened, but they heard a big explosion outside, and the gas can exploded on my little cousin who's four. His name is Mike. He had horrid burns on both arms and legs. He's been in the hospital about three weeks. They've done two graph surgeries, taking skin off his back to fill in the burns on his legs. The second one the doctors thought wouldn't work, but praise God it did! The doctors say he might be able to come home soon!! Oh well, being busy is better than being bored, right? A few things have happened since i last updated this thing.

I spent Sunday trying to finish my book, which i did!

Monday was a normal day. I finished school work, hurried through lunch, and went to work. I'm now half way through with my filing! I then came home, and worked on Beverly's skirt, for she wanted it a tad shorter, and it was too big. oops!

Today I have school, which is completed, cleaning the kitchen, a sky high stack of laundry, work, and practicing of a new song, "Angel of Music''. A normal Tuesday! lol. well i gotta go! bye!!!

Samantha C. I got up around 7, completed school, ironed my dress, and went to band. After band, I hurried through my lunch and went to work. The power was out, and that meant the computers were down, so my sister (who helped me get the job) helped me with the Inactive filing. She took me home, and I'm now trying to make her a skirt out of what used to be a dress. I'm fitting her for it tomorrow and it needs to be done my Saturday, so I'll be busy! My mom was watching the news and called me in the room to watch it. Something came on about a teacher sexually abusing a girl. It was not at school, but the teacher worked at my old school. And it turned out he was my old Advanced English Teacher! I was freaking out. See, I never liked his teaching at all! He would send a note home if a student got anything less than an A. But just the fact that I knew him was so weird. this is what it says on WSFA.com

Teacher Charged With Sex Abuse
March 9, 2006, 06:42 PM CST
A Millbrook Junior High School teacher is charged with first degree sodomy and first degree sex abuse against a female child. The teacher's name is forty-nine-year old Dan Platt. The Elmore County District Attorney tells WSFA12 News the incident did not happen at the school. The student did not attend that school. Platt is now out of jail on bond.

Samantha C. Mom and I went to the mall to get my sewing machine, but they didn't have the one i saw online. So, mom helped me out to get a more expensive one, and I owe her $49. We then went on to my sister's house, which was fun. She and her husband are adding on to their house, so there was lots of construction going on. After, we went to look at other trailor parks near the area I was raised in. ( the one we live in now is far too expensive) I got a little teary remembering when my father went down the roads we went down, and where I would play as a little child, etc. It was nice though. We finally made it home, and I worked on heming a dress I've made last summer. It was too complicated for me (lol), because it was too big so I had to cut some fabric from the sides and stuff, so I just figured I'll start all over. lol. We're going to look at patterns tomorrow. I'm thinking of either buying a piccolo or a sewing machine, because I've been reading my friend Anna's blog, and sewing seems fun. I grew up with my older sister and brother in Elmore, which is a small town outside of Millbrook. My mother once managed a hotel before having children, and my father owned his own electric company. I had a carefree childhood out in the country, and it was wonderful. When I was 7, my father passed away. My mom tried telling me he was gone to heaven and God has answered her prayers, which was to take his pain away. Shortly after, my mom and I moved to Millbrook, and we were in and out of three different houses. During 6th grade, I was inspired to write poetry, but I soon dropped it, for I realized I loved music much more. I became homeschooled in 7th grade, due to problems at school. I quickly joined a homeschool band, and enjoyed music very much! We moved to Montgomery, and during the summer after 7th grade, I truly accepted Christ. I always knew about the Christian life, but I never understood it enough. We then moved to Prattville in the fall of last year, and I like it much more than Montgomery! Now I'm 15, in the 9th grade, have a great job, and I'm living life to the fullest, following God's word the whole way.

Samantha C.
