Friends are Wonderful!

Hey guys. Not much has been going on. I get to go to prom this year! I'm so excited!
I don't have a 'date', but that's okay. I finally got hold of Brandilyn last night! (She was an old friend from WAY back, who I lost touch with) She's doing okay. Her boyfriend has proposed. Normally that would be great, but she's only 15 and he's 16! She's not told him an answer, but I hope she says no, shes too young! But that's not my place to say anything. Anyways, my sister bought me a new pattern for pajamas. I've never made those, so we'll see how they turn out.

No More Spring Break

This week is winding down to an end, and I'm glad! I worked 9-5 Monday, 1-5 Tuesday-Thursday, and 8:30-4:30 today! I worked on my normal filing, pulling files, making reciepts and writing payments into a person's log, and also walking to the court house. It was fun though, because I got to spend a while with my sister! We always have great talks about faith. Tomorrow, my brother, nephew, aunt, uncle, two cousins, cousin's wife, and some family from my brother-in-law's family are going to my sister's house for a fish-fry. It will be fun! And Monday it's back to my normal school routine. That will be hard to start again. lol. well i better go.

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

Yesterday was kind of fun. My sister stayed here until 9 looking at photo albums! But the reason she stayed is because her husband (his ability to fix everything has been coming in handy!) was fixing my mom's car. For a while, it's been making strange noises. And on the way to Walmart yesterday, it started smelling funny, so we went home. So all the menfolk (my brother, brother-in-law, and cousin) looked at it. I honestly have no clue what was wrong. They were sitting there talking, and my cousin's wife and I were both saying 'what are you talking about?!' lol. Well that was about my day. I gtg bye!

Do you like to dress modest, but have terrible luck finding modest clothes? Ya, me too! Here's a few tips I've come up with to turn the ''two sizes two small'' look of today into modest.

Can't find any jeans that aren't too tight? Wear a baggy shirt over them, and no one will notice.

Just LOVE that pattern on the skirt, but turns out, it's a mini skirt! Do you know how many people wear jeans under their skirts, and it looks pretty cool!

Neckline too low on a shirt (or dress) you want? A jean jacket or sweater will cover that up.

If ever there's a shirt either too short, too see-through, too anything but modest, wear a spaghetti strap under it, and it will look like part of the shirt, only a little more decent!

Thank God For My Brother-In-Law

Hey, how's everyone? I'm great. Today my brother was washing his hat in the bath tub, and when he went to cut the hot water off, it wouldn't cut off! The knob was off, but the water wasn't, and he had no clue how to fix it. Mom called my sister, and she and her husband came down two hours ago, and after about two hours, my bro-in-law saved the day! (or the hot water) lol.

Tomorrow starts spring break! yay! No school for a week! but I do have to work 8 hours instead, but that's okay. I'm really starting to like my work. I like getting to walk on downtown streets and look oh-so-businessy. lol. Of course, the shoes could be more confortable, but no tennis shoes would be allowed. well I better go, I'm just rambling. Bye!

Question 1:If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion? Read the next question before looking at the response for this one.

Question 2:It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates.

Candidate A.Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B.He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C.He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be your choice? Decide first... no peeking, then scroll downfor the response.-------------------------------------------------------------

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Candidate B is Winston Churchill.

Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.
And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question: If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone. Wait till you see the end of this note! Keep reading...

Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember: Amateurs...built the ark.
Professionals...built the Titanic

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:*

29 have been accused of spousal abuse*
7 have been arrested for fraud*
19 have been accused of writing bad checks*
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses*
3 have done time for assault*
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit*
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges*
8 have been arrested for shoplifting*
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits*
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

Can you guess which organization this is?Give up yet? It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I thought this was kind of interesting. Of course with the first question, I'd say no to the lady having an abortion, but some does say yes.

My Cousin's Son

God works another miracle! I'll start at the beginning. My cousins had their four children (one 9 yrs old, one 4, and two 2) over at my aunt's house. they left them outside unsupervised, and they found a match and a gas can. No one knows what happened, but they heard a big explosion outside, and the gas can exploded on my little cousin who's four. His name is Mike. He had horrid burns on both arms and legs. He's been in the hospital about three weeks. They've done two graph surgeries, taking skin off his back to fill in the burns on his legs. The second one the doctors thought wouldn't work, but praise God it did! The doctors say he might be able to come home soon!! I'm so happy!!

Can't Wait for Spring Break

Gosh, when will things slow down!?! Oh well, being busy is better than being bored, right? A few things have happened since i last updated this thing.

I spent Sunday trying to finish my book, which i did!

Monday was a normal day. I finished school work, hurried through lunch, and went to work. I'm now half way through with my filing! I then came home, and worked on Beverly's skirt, for she wanted it a tad shorter, and it was too big. oops!

Today I have school, which is completed, cleaning the kitchen, a sky high stack of laundry, work, and practicing of a new song, "Angel of Music''. A normal Tuesday! lol. well i gotta go! bye!!!

Gotta Love Saturdays!

Today, I really wanted to sleep late, which is impossible around here! lol My brother was in and out at the house at 7:00, so that woke me up. I'm waking him up at 6:00 for that tomorrow! lol no not really. My sister came over earlier so i could fit her for the skirt. We ate Taco Bell, and she left. About three hours later, I completed her skirt, so she'll be coming over tomorrow to get it. Mom and I have set up a school schedule for next year.

Foundations For Living- 10th grade science
Health- 11th grade science
Consumer Math- 10th grade math
Accounting- 11th grade math

I'm trying to do a little bit of 11th grade work. Then the year after, I'm doing the other half of 11th grade along with 12th grade work, and I'll graduate a year early.

I've also been working on the Phantom of The Opera music. not the music for band, but the actual songs; I love the music!!! that's about it for today. gtg! P.S. this is the skirt I made for my sister, Beverly

Another Normal Day

Today was an okay day. I got up around 7, completed school, ironed my dress, and went to band. After band, I hurried through my lunch and went to work. The power was out, and that meant the computers were down, so my sister (who helped me get the job) helped me with the Inactive filing. She took me home, and I'm now trying to make her a skirt out of what used to be a dress. I'm fitting her for it tomorrow and it needs to be done my Saturday, so I'll be busy! My mom was watching the news and called me in the room to watch it. Something came on about a teacher sexually abusing a girl. It was not at school, but the teacher worked at my old school. And it turned out he was my old Advanced English Teacher! I was freaking out. See, I never liked his teaching at all! He would send a note home if a student got anything less than an A. But just the fact that I knew him was so weird. this is what it says on

my first dress!

I've completed making my first dress in only two days! Nothing fancy, but that's just fine by me!

Mom got a little shaky on the way home from taking me to work. Traffic was terrible due to an accident. She was toward the front of the traffic, and could see a car tipped over and flattened, and a body lying in the street. She said she thought she saw some type of cloth also, and hoped it wasn't a baby. how awful! that was basically my day. gtg!

Another Sunday

Yesterday we had a busy day! Mom and I went to the mall to get my sewing machine, but they didn't have the one i saw online. So, mom helped me out to get a more expensive one, and I owe her $49. We then went on to my sister's house, which was fun. She and her husband are adding on to their house, so there was lots of construction going on. After, we went to look at other trailor parks near the area I was raised in. ( the one we live in now is far too expensive) I got a little teary remembering when my father went down the roads we went down, and where I would play as a little child, etc. It was nice though. We finally made it home, and I worked on heming a dress I've made last summer. It was too complicated for me (lol), because it was too big so I had to cut some fabric from the sides and stuff, so I just figured I'll start all over. lol. We're going to look at patterns tomorrow. Today I'm just going to be lazy.

Good Poem from Alabama judge sued by ACLU
The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. JudgeMoore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in hiscourtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they aretrying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama. The judge's poem sumsit up quite well.
America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer
in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
and mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land
and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
if you don't - then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
withdraw His hand from Thee.

~Judge Roy Moore

My New Hobby

Okay, you know earlier i couldnt decide what to buy? ok, i thought about it, and i could do more with a sewing machine than with a piccolo. I found a sewing machine for only $99.99, just a few dollars under my budget! perfect! im so excited, i cant wait to go get it Saturday!!

Another Day At Band

Today was a normal day. I've completed science for the year, and work for the week! I got to go to band, which is always fun. I could not get to sleep last night, at least not until midnight! Then I woke up for an unknown reason at 3:30, and again at 7:00 due to my brother's alarm clock. I'm trying to save money, but I don't know what for. I'm thinking of either buying a piccolo or a sewing machine, because I've been reading my friend Anna's blog, and sewing seems fun. Plus, you can't find a decent pair of jeans anymore! lol. well i have to go.

Story of My Life

I got kind of bored, so I thought I'd write a short autobiography.

lets see....

I was born Jan. 27, 1991 to Charles and Kathy Brooks. I grew up with my older sister and brother in Elmore, which is a small town outside of Millbrook. My mother once managed a hotel before having children, and my father owned his own electric company. I had a carefree childhood out in the country, and it was wonderful. When I was 7, my father passed away. My mom tried telling me he was gone to heaven and God has answered her prayers, which was to take his pain away. Shortly after, my mom and I moved to Millbrook, and we were in and out of three different houses. During 6th grade, I was inspired to write poetry, but I soon dropped it, for I realized I loved music much more. I became homeschooled in 7th grade, due to problems at school. I quickly joined a homeschool band, and enjoyed music very much! We moved to Montgomery, and during the summer after 7th grade, I truly accepted Christ. I always knew about the Christian life, but I never understood it enough. We then moved to Prattville in the fall of last year, and I like it much more than Montgomery! Now I'm 15, in the 9th grade, have a great job, and I'm living life to the fullest, following God's word the whole way.
